The united nations has four main goals:

-to keep peace throughout the world

-to develop friendly relations among nations

-to nations work together to improve the lives of poor people, to encourage respect for the rights and freedoms of people around the world, and to conquer hunger, disease, and illiteracy

-to be a center for harmonizing the actions of nations to achieve these goals
