Many of the colonists were affected by the economic conditions after the American Revolution. They were taxed on many items and they could not afford to pay them all. Many of the Americans ships were destroyed in the war, and this crippled the economy fro many people because they could not trade to other countries. Farmers suffered because their food and crops were stolen by both armies. Britain refused exports to sugar colonies which further crippled the economy. The colonists fought back and many lawyers jumped in to help pass new laws.  Rapid inflation was a major problem cause by the cost of war.
