Read the excerpt from the us constitution. no religious test shall ever be required as a qualification to any office or public trust under the united states. in regards to religion, what is the meaning of the excerpt? people do not have to pass an exam to become an elected official. people have the right to practice which ever religion they choose. citizens cannot be blocked from a political position based on religion. citizens must have a religious background to become an elected official.
