in england the people elect representatives to be in parliament, the legislative branch
of government. the parliament in turn elects a prime minister to act as the executive
branch, much like our american president. these representatives are held
accountable by regular elections every 2 years. there is also a queen, but the queen
has very little actual power. she is just a figurehead or representation of the state.
