Everyone makes mistakes, Simon Bolivar was to exception. One terrible thing that Bolivar did was betraying one of Venezuela’s greatest patriots. Francisco de Miranda, a Venezuelan general in the French Revolution, attempted to start an independence movement in his home land but failed. The republic was then destroyed by the Spanish. As the republic crumbled, Bolivar turned Miranda over to the Spanish, who locked him in prison until death.
