How and why did the separate british colonies (and later states) form a tighter and tighter unit in the period from 1754 to 1815 ?

The separate colonies formed a tighter and tighter unit because they didn't want to be apart of British rule anymore, and all shared similar ideas which brought them together over time. They did not believe in the taxation and British control that they were experiencing especially when they had no say in British parliament. The Boston Massacre was a huge turning point in uniting the colonies, as that is when all of them realized they wanted their own independence away from Britain. They also realized that strength was bigger in numbers and if all of them were together they could break away from Britain's rule more quickly and effectively.  

the protestant reformation's started in 1517, disturbing the religious and political order in europe´s catholic countries. the outcome was the european wars of religion prosecuted in europe in the 16th, 17th and part of the 18th century. nonetheless, uprisings, territorial disputes, and great power conflicts were also causes of the wars.  

peasants’ war, (1524–25) peasant uprising in germany inspired by changes brought by the reformation, peasants in western and southern germany invoked   divine law to demand agrarian rights and freedom from oppression by nobles and landlords. as the uprising spread, some peasant groups organized armies. although the revolt was supported huldrych zwingli and thomas müntzerits condemnation by martain luther contributed to its defeat, principally by the army of the swabian league. some 100,000 peasants were killed. reprisals and increased restrictions discouraged further attempts to improve the peasants’ plight.
