the aoc were an agreement by the state to work together to replace the monarchy.the basic principle of the aoc was that the country should be a republic.

it failed because

the states were more powerful than the national gov.the national gov could not tax the stats,thus there was no army or navy.there was no chief executive or federal courts.each state could print its own money.this equaled a weak central government that protected the states.
