In what was hitler’s campaign against jews rooted?

It can be said that the Nazi campaign to exterminate the Jews had its roots in the long history of centuries of anti-Semitism in Germany and  in Europe. In Christian Europe, Jews faced persecution and discrimination. However, hatred of Jews and making them an enemy is part of indoctrination  and propaganda plans inspired in totalitarian ideologies; totalitarian regimes such as fascim and communism, need to creat an external threat or an enemy of their peoples in order to mobilize them and facilitate ideological control of society. This is also a clue to understand the Nazi campaign against Jews.
