Why were native americans so eager to engage in the enslavement of other indians before 1750?

This was because Native Americans were in competition with other tribes. This led to war between the tribes and prisoners of war. These POW became slaves. The enslavement stopped after 1850, because of the need for tribes to work together. This was due to the Americans removing Natives from their lands.
