For mexico in the mid-1800s, the mexican cession was a means of getting money that led to a period of prosperity and economic success. an opportunity to make peace and build a good relationship with the united states. a negative consequence of the war because mexico suffered a sizable loss of territory. a positive consequence of the war because mexico gained a sizable amount of territory.

the intolerable acts were punitive laws passed by the british parliament in 1774 after the boston tea party. in great britain, these laws were referred to as the coercive acts.
