The growth in industries following the civil war was fueled by a number of forces including a rising population, abundant natural resources, manufacturing development, and technological innovation. Following the war the United States utilized its rising population including tens of thousands of new immigrants along with its abundant natural resources to develop its industries which led to an economic boom. 

Primary sources are usually  more accurate and are written by someone who experienced it or witnessed it. secondary sources are those who heard of it after the fact that can lose details and or twist the event in a light that benefits them.
