1. Why do we need the government?

A government is a group of people who governs a community, unit or country.

We need the government because it provides the parameters for citizen's everyday behaviors. It protects people from outside interference and makes sure that human rights are recognized and respected. This is made possible by making the rights clear in the Constitution. The government also promotes justice and general welfare of all citizens. It tries to fight the threats of terrorism.

2. How would lack of government impact your life?

A lack of government would greatly impact my life in many ways. I would feel insecure about my safety and rights. For example, if I own a huge property, there would be a chance that someone will steal it away from me any time since no one is going to safeguard me. People can get away with crimes since there will be no punishment. I would feel scared going out at night because I can get killed any time.

3. What do we call a situation where there is no government?

The absence of government is called "anarchy." This is similarly connected with the word "chaos." Anarchy is defined as the absence of government and the absolute freedom of the individual. This situation is a state of natural disorder due to the non-recognition of authority or any other controlling systems. It is also considered to be a political philosophy advocating self-governed societies.

4. What would happen if a place didn't have government for any length of time?

If a place didn't have any government for a length of time, it would definitely be chaotic since there will be no laws nor parameters for the citizen’s behavior. People’s rights, opinions and beliefs will not be respected. Paying of taxes will come to a halt. This will result to more problems in the country. No one will also defend the country, if the need arises.
