Lee and J.E.B Stuart, all of the South. The North had Abraham Lincoln among others. The South had well trained and skilled Generals as opposed to the Generals in the North. General McClellan was fired by Abraham Lincoln as he was not proud of the Military Leaders.

Most of the fights took place within the Confederate territory. This gave the South troops an edge, as they knew the land more than the North (Union).
