YES , THE JEWISH LEADERS TAMED FALSE ACCUSATIONS AGAINST JESUS ,SO THAT THEY COULD SENTENCE HIM TO DEATH .

Explanation: The death of jesus has never been accidental.The crucification of jesus traces back to six trials ,all of which were merely false accusations with false evidences .The jews conducted the first three trials of jesus . In these trials they accused jesus of blasphemy .They blamed him saying that he was considering himself as the messenger of god and speaking ill of other religions .The other three trials were conducted by the romans . The hanging of jesus was more a political issue.

the catholic church withhold people's access to the bible during the middle ages.

people could go to church and listen to the teachings, but it was absolutely forbidden to own and/or read the books of both the old and new testaments. it was also prohibited to translate the books (which where originally in biblical hebrew) to any other language.

this was done so the church could remain in control of what their teachings were and to enhance their importance and power, while also being able to judge people's actions through information that was unavailable for the general public.
