Were the colonists justified in their rebellion against england? if you had been there, would you have sided with the colonial elite (who wanted to maintain status quo) or with the radicals? why?

The rebellion against England was justified by the taxes (creation or increasing of them), and laws that served more for England to obtain profit than the Colonists. These misunderstandings created the motif for the revolution. However, more than just a rebellion against taxes and laws, the American Revolution was in favor of freedom. Many of those colonists came to America to find a place to live and thrive, without the regulation of England.  

If I was a colonist, I think that I would enlist to radicals, because these taxes and laws, of course, would affect my finances, and soon or later, it would cause a crisis.
