Women gained more opportunity’s such as getting jobs because all the men were at war and shops needed employees. Along with this, lesbians were known to work at more of the “manly” places such as mechanic shops due to them being more “butch” or whatever. Although people during this time still didn’t like the LGBT Community, people liked the sight of women working is car shops.
