After second world war the African colonies were decolonised from 1950s to 1975.  Radical and sudden regime changes happened in the African nations  and gradually all the countries became independent states.

The regime change was no peaceful it was full of political turmoil and violence, organised revolts and widespread unrest occurred in both Northern and sub-Saharan colonies of  British Kenya, Portuguese Angola, french Algeria and Belgian Congo.  

The second world war helped to foster African nationalism and made the freedom a common goal for all the Africans and It was not easy for the colonialists to hold onto their colonies.The war affected both Africa and Europe psychologically, politically, economically and militarily.
