As more settlers moved west, how did they interact with natives tribes?

As the settlers moved to the West, the started to interact with the native settlers by setting up treaties that would benefit the natives.

These settlers were mostly British, French and Dutch. Their treaties mostly focused on the uneducated tribes because they tend to be manipulated easily.

Most of the native tribes had never seen people other than their own. This became the reason for why they were quickly mesmerized by the little trinkets and small gifts the foreigners had in store for them as gifts. This helped them build trust and carry activities that would allow them to settle in better and quicker.  

the national congress's powers over the states were specific and definite: it had the sole power to negotiate treaties, declare war, and make peace. all powers not granted to congress were reserved for state governments. congress had no power to levy taxes, for example.
