The Neolithic age was also referred to at the New Stone age. It was the time man discovered agriculture.

The Neolithic age came after the Paleolithic age. During the Neolithic period man discovered how to plant crops, domesticate and rear animals like chickens, goats, sheep cattle e.t.c for food purposes.

A typical day in the life of man during the Neolithic age would be filled with activities such as;

a. Farming

b. Basket weaving

c. Wool making

d. Hunting of animals

e. Construction of buildings

f. Pottery making.

Crops like lentil, barley, peas, wheat, beans, potatoes were been cultivated in the Neolithic age.

Some of tools man used to work in the Neolithic age was more advanced than that of the Paleolithic age.

The tools of the Neolithic age includes:

a. Axes: It is use for clearing farmlands used for planting crops.

b. Scrapers: They were used to butcher animals.

c. Spears and Arrows:These where used for an improved method of hunting animals.

During the Neolithic age, Pottery making was one of the professions also discovered which helped man to improve the various methods used in cooking. Pottery could be used to make pots, plates and spoons for cooking and eating. They could also be used to store food items and water.

Construction of houses, and buildings greatly improved during the Neolithic age compared to the Paleolithic age.

From sheeps, the outer covering of their skin also known as wool was used by man in to make clothing during the Neolithic age.

Basket weaving was also one of the skills learnt during the Neolithic age. Baskets were used to store clothing items. They were also used to store some food items to prevent them from spoiling easily.
