Conventionally, Heracles was the son of Zeus and Alcmene which is the granddaughter of Perseus. Zeus vowed that the next son born of the Perseid house will be the next ruler of Greece, but, due to Hera’s trick, who happen to be Zeus’s jealous wife, another child, the not so healthy Eurystheus, was born first and was later crowned king.
