This is slightly confusing, because it's incorrect - the original two-party system consisted of the Federalist Party and the Democratic-Republican party.

But after that, which I guess is the information they're wanting here, is the Whig and the Democratic Party.. those were the next two parties that really came about after the Democratic-Republican party fell apart.
