The Declaration of Independence was written to help what issues the colonists were facing?

It was written to  bring the divided colonies together in the time o need. When the colonists began rebelling, they were not together in their fight because the state borders divided them. The states had all the power. The Declaration of Independence brought the colonists together so they were under one flag.
