Why were the Americas NOT a part of the Silk Road exchanges between 1000-1300 CE2
Leaders of the East forbade merchants from traveling to lands across the
Pacific Ocean
American merchants had to desire to trade for goods from the East during
the 1000-1300 CE period.
European exploration of the Americas had not begun, so lands of the
distant West were not known trading partners from 1000-1300 CE.
Governments of the Americas were not stable enough to support the cost
of long distance travel and trade taking place from 1000-1300 CE.
