In 1783 the country was barely formed and unsure of its place in the world as a federation of 13 colonies that was trying a radically different form of governance that had not been tested in the modern world.

The country had in a few decades since progressed enormously and by the year of 1828 was looking to expand its boundaries in Indian lands as well as Spanish roisters that were important and profitable.

This change is the biggest marker as US began imperial ambitions of its own from beg a newly independent colony.
