The OPEC oil embargo was an event where the 12 countries that made up OPEC stopped selling oil to the United States.  In response to the oil crisis, the United States took steps to become increasingly energy independent.

based on this information, i would advocate against sweatshop labour because it exploits workers in unsafe working conditions with little pay. though sweatshops produce inexpensive goods, they harm the environment, workers, and often use unsafe materials to make consumer goods.
