The racism and discrimination against the blacks helped them to organize themselves and help each other. Such that  former slave, Allen  Richard became the first African Methodist Church Bishop.

African Americans were able to set up youth education centers for the education of the youths. That gave rise to African Society of Youth Education.

Black Americans fought for unjust treatment against them through the National Council of Colored People which was created for the purpose.

Black Americans, despite the condemnations against them saw to the significance rise in the quantity of cotton production in American, leading to sudden rise from 3000 cotton bales to 4  billion cotton bales in a very short time.
