Northwest main sources of food, types of homes they lived in, other important facts ? HELP!!!

If you are talking about the New England Colonies, then the main source of food would be subsistence agriculture and fish and other seafood.  The economy of New England was largely devoted to the see and the fishing trade.  Shipbuilding was a staple of this economy, as was haling, and such enterprises brought much personal wealth and were the drivers of the economy.

The soil of New England was pretty terrible and the climate also did not help.  This led to the people of New England relying on subsistence agriculture, barely being able to provide for themselves and their families.  Grain mills, along with trade between New England he more prosperous Middle Colonies, were the main means of securing food.  

The homes of New Englanders were small, and were also a workshop of sorts, with many households making everything they needed - this largely restricted the growth of markets and trade, though in larger cities, markets and trade would become present.
