1. Explain the causes of the Civil War? (It was more than slavery, be sure to include the other issues / causes as well. You can examine the information in 8.01 to find this information.)

B. Reconstruction
1. What challenges did the United States face during Reconstruction? ( 8.05)
2. Examine the Reconstruction plans developed by both President Johnson and the Republican Congress and determine the advantages and disadvantages of each of these plans.
3. How did Southerners react to the laws passed by Congress? Explain why they responded this way. What were the political and social consequences of Reconstruction in the South?
4. How did Reconstruction policies affect life in the United States?
5. Explain the causes and consequences of President’s Johnsons impeachment.
6. How did the following impact Reconstruction and the impeachment of President Johnson:
