Why were there so many huge famines in India under the Raj??

After the advent of British rule, most of the huge families were a consequence of monsoonal delays along with the exploitation of the country's natural resources by the British for their own financial gain. Yet they did little to acknowledge the havoc these actions wrought.

even if someone does vote because of your twitter status, there is no civic duty and would have been a more responsible citizen by not voting at all. voting should therefore not be viewed as a fulfillment of civic duty.
