Who was our very 1st president? (No looking up.) And explain why.

George Washington was the 1st president of the United States. Why? Well let me tell you, Wash. here was a British militia officer who had great tact and military talent when it came to leading others. Inheriting the position of Militia Major from his brother. Then came Revolution, he was chosen to lead the continental army.

Of course he had help when they survived that crazy winter at Valley Forge. George could've chosen to be the king of USA. But no, he is a man of great character. When people spoke out against him. He said, "if my actions become questioned by the people. I will retire to a quiet life."
