This lesson covered the changes in the economic infrastructure that were required to ensure that the Allied forces were well supplied in the World War II global conflict. All American citizens were encouraged to support the war effort through rationing, investing dollars in war bonds, and filling the many new jobs that had opened as a result of men joining the armed forces and new civilian jobs created by wartime demands.
