Create a chronological, multiple-tier timeline that charts the civilizations, empires, and global trends that you learned about in this unit. Here is a list of items that you may want to include on your timeline: The Babylonian, Assyrian, Persian, Nubian, and Aksumite Empires The development of iron technology Greek civilization, the Persian War, the Peloponnesian War, the formation of the Delian League, the death of Alexander the Great, the Hellenistic Period The Roman Republic, the Punic Wars, the Roman Empire Chinese imperial dynasties, Confucius The Mauryan Empire, the death of Asoka Olmec civilization The development of Buddhism, Christianity, and Judaism Now you'll take this a step further and add a map activity! Notice the map of the Ottoman Empire. It has several different shades of green to represent the years of the advancing Ottoman Empire. Your assignment is to create a map of the Roman Empire, from the time the city of Rome was founded through the fall of the Roman Empire (753 B. C. – 476 A. D.) You will need to find a blank map image online which shows Europe and North Africa in order to complete this project. Include the following on your map: Title the map with the time span covered Provide a key, with colors representing each period and area conquered Label the regional map to include continents, major cities, bodies of water, etc. Be sure to show different shades or colors of the expanding areas Create a scale, to show how vast the empire was
