Why was Spain so concerned about English and French colonization?

Spain was worried about the new elites gaining too much power. french and english colonization used tactics such as exaggerating spanish violent to gain trust from other natives. to put it into simple words, spain was worried about french and english colonizations ruining its reputation, since it was starting to gain power and respect quickly :)

Because broadest terms allows the law flexibility depending on changing society and circumstances.
