After learning about the Roman Empire, think back about what most stood out to you and why? Something they had that we don’t (here in the U. S.)? Something we have (today in the U. S.) that they didn’t?

The thing that stood out is the ability of the Empire to incorporate so many different regions, cultures and religions into one country and to connect the whole Empire with roads and trade. On the other side something that Roman Empire had and we don't have in the United States is slavery. Slavery is prohibited in United States in the 19th Century, while in the Roman Empire existed for a long period of time. On the other side, today in the United States we have electoral system, where the mandate of President is termed, while the Roman rulers and emperors had the possibility to rule until their death.

Explanation:

Roman Empire was one of the first great empires that was ever created. It existed for almost five centuries and it spread across the whole Mediterranean and even further. It had a developed political and economical system. Still, the society was divided both on social and economical level. Additionally, it is interesting that Rome created some of the institutions that exist even today. As we have said slavery existed in Rome and there were many famous revolts, such as the one of Spartacus. Slavery also existed in United States for a long period of time, but it was abolished in 1860s.

the map that was shown mostly had eastern asia highlighted. the answer would mostly likely be "the spread of communism into eastern asia set the stage for the korean war."
