What are your thoughts on the death penalty

If someone does something horrible or despicable enough to deserve it, for example distributing or making child p***, murder, r***, etc... They should very much be served the death penalty. Especially since prisons are becoming overcrowded because there are too many people. It shouldnt've been abolished in the first place.
