Democracy is a system of government where the people thayt are being governed have the right o choose the people that they want to be their officials.

Every society that practices true democracy would be progressive in nature. But not all countries of the world are democratic some of these countries are dictatorial in nature and the leaders are opposed to the citizens having certain rights.

Democracy is facing a lot of problems and doubts these days.

Democracy is profitable to some not everyone in society.

It seems that only the political elites benefit from democracy. It seems that political parties benefit from democracy. Maybe, the political machines during elections economically benefit during election time.

But benefits for the American citizens. Not many, not anymore.

Democratic governments have failed. Inequality is constant in modern societies. Poverty rates are increasing. Wealthy people are getting richer, Poor people are getting poorer. And many people are in this last condition.

Modern democracies are facing problems like immigration or racial issues.  Americans taking the streets to protest against police brutality without any serious response. People raise their voices on immigration, but no answers at all.

It seems that people are not trusting their representatives and politicians.
