Summarize the battle of pea ridge and it’s outcome?

The battle of Pea Ridge took place during the American Civil War. It was near Leetown, in Arkansas. The Union forces under General Samuel Curtis and the Confederate army of General Earl Van Dorn. It was from March 7-8, 1862. Despite severe losses on both sides, the Union army was able to counterattack and on March 8 which weakened the Confederate army and forced them to retreat.
