The workers filled the transition and prevented the use of railroads until their demands were addressed. The protest ended after the feds sent the national troops to disperse the crowd.

On hindsight,  this might be seen as a failure for the movement. But from that point onward, a lot more people start to pay attention to worker's right and standard living wages. I believe this why Great Upheaval  essentially do more good for organized labor.
