The Soviet Nationalism Grew under Stalin in the sense that Religious influence was reduced, and churches sometimes were destroyed. Literature, music and art that the communist party deemed questionable were banned. Russian art and culture was revered. Nationalist uprisings by non-Russian groups were put down and non-Rissian Minorities were frequently persecuted.
