Many Americans wanted to restrict immigration to the United States in the late 1800s. Which is NOT a reason Americans wanted to restrict immigration? They did not want to pay higher taxes to fund immigrants (schooling, police etc.)

Americans disliked that their jobs were being taken by immigrants, because immigrants would accept lower wages.

Many Americans believed that immigrants who looked different or spoke a foreign language would never fit in to American society.

Americans said the ENTIRE country was overcrowded immigrants would not fit anywhere.
