The Chinese Exclusion Act was a United States law passed by President Chester on May 6, 1882, This Act was meant to ban all immigration of the Chinese people.

Then they began building on top of the 1875 Page Act, which banned Chinese women from immigrating to the United States.

the Chinese Exclusion Act was the first to prevent all members of a specific ethnic group from immigrating to the United States.

The reason the United States implemented this law was because American workers were not getting as many jobs as the Chinese because the Chinese accepted any amount of money, where as American workers felt that they deserved to have a certain amount of money given because their worth for their time and hard work deserved that much.
