Well I think ( I am a Christian) the crusades were effective.

this is because many people converted to  Christian. today many countries feel threaten by Christians and closed their country to missionaries. the effect on even Muslim states had some change! To the other Christians, this was a wake call to get active and spread the word! god bless.
