Do you think Manifest Destiny was a positive or negative on the United States?

The westward expansion led to many other events in and around the United States. Before Manifest Destiny and the westward expansion the French and Indian War and Revolutionary War took place which allowed America to declare independence. There's no telling weather its positive or negative, but it leans more on the  positive side, because of its impact.
