For example, if a person was caught stealing money in a supermarket, people shouldn't immediately judge him as a bad person. He might have stolen because he wanted to feed his children and he couldn't find any other means. If you were in his shoes, you wouldn't want people to look down on you as well. Thus, it is important to know the real situation before judging somebody.

This goes the same way that if you want people to respect you, you also have to respect them. An action begets another action.
