Fact one:  Edwards, pioneer settler and land speculator, was born in Stafford County, Virginia, on August 12, 1771, the son of John Edwards.

Fact two:  In 1780 the family moved to Bourbon County, Kentucky (at that time part of Virginia), where John Edwards acquired 23,000 acres of land, worked for statehood, and was elected to the United States Senate.

Fact three: Edwards received a grant in the vicinity of Nacogdoches where he could locate 800 families.
