Why are stars and planets spherical (ball shaped)? When stars and planets were made, they began as round balls in space.

Gravity pulls evenly towards the center. Over time this rounds out a planet into a sphere.

Gravity pulls harder on parts that stick out. This extra gravity makes planets more round.
