You are finally ready to live on your own and you are making $2,600.00 per month. OPTION 1: Apartment in a decent area, close to your job (bike, walk, bus) that costs $1,650 per month

OPTION 2: Rent a room in a house that is far from work (car/bus) in a sketchy area of town, that costs $900 per month

Remember you need to eat, toiletries for showering, wash clothes, how you get to work (car payment, bus pass, metro-link, skateboard/bike, ect.), might have medical issues, cell phone service, personal security, and may even WANT to have some fun. Think about what things you may need/want and try to think about what it will cost.
