Why do you think the U. S. port was referred to as the "golden door"?

The golden door is a beacon of promise beckoning immigrants to embrace a new land and all it offers. Another meaning of the golden door is that anything worthwhile is worth fighting and working hard for, and gold is emblematic of something of worth.

interdependence is when all participating groups and individuals depend on each other. if you depend on one anothers goods, you end up trading in order to get the items you're looking for. (for ex: if i have food and you have water, we trade in order to depend on each other to live)
