The United Nations consists of representatives from 193 different, sovereign states. The representatives of each country are appointed by that country’s government officials. In the United States, the President is responsible our U. N. Ambassador. The U. N. is responsible for creating international laws, enforcing them around the world and upholding the Universal Declaration of Human Rights.
