Why is a representative government necessary in a large society?

It would be like the government that is in the USA, it can't be a direct democracy as that would mean everyone votes on everything. Not only is it not efficient but also the general population often does not possess enough knowledge. That's why we have electoral college votes in USA because the people are not trusted.

Contributing factors  leading  to the harlem renaissance were the great migration of african americans to northern cities, which concentratedambitious  people in places where they could encourage each  other, and the first world war, which had created new industrial work opportunities for tens of thousands of people.
